PAPERS FOR ST WILFRID’S
Papers for St. Wilfrids was a kerbside recycling service which ran for 6 years whereby we supplied a red box to the residents in Hailsham and Hellingly and collected all of their unwanted papers and cardboard. The support from our local community for this service has been fantastic and we had over 2500 red boxes out, collecting around 5 tonnes of papers and cardboard every week.
RAISING MONEY WITH RECYCLING
We have donated over £40,000 to the hospice so far through this service alone. Although we have stopped the scheme as of June 2022, we are working with St. Wilfrids to think of another way we can recycle and donate so keep your eyes peeled here and on our social media for further updates!
As well as running this service Haulaway partakes in various fundraisers for the Hospice including pancake races, the Kapow! 5km fun run and Christmas jumper days. In 2019 we also donated a car to the Hospice for the nurses to use for travelling to patients.
WHY ST WILFRID’S?
Our local St Wilfrid’s Hospice is a charity that touches the lives of many people, providing specialist care for people with many progressive and advanced illnesses. Therefore, being able to contribute to the £15,000 per day needed to run the Hospice is a cause close to ours, and we are sure many other people’s hearts.
‘£30,000 FOR 30’
Last year it is Haulaway’s 30th Birthday and so, with the ongoing support and involvement from the Hailsham residents, our aim was to reach an incredible £30,000 having been donated to St Wilfrid’s by the end of the year. We are pleased to confirm that we have now reached this fantastic amount, which makes us feel extremely proud.
